Susie and Newton Beeler lived in the Saint Stephens - North Mountain area west of Strasburg, Virginia for several years and then moved to Star Tannery in the Cedar Creek area of Frederick County, where they were living at the time of the 1900 census. About 1903, they along with several other families from Shenandoah County, including Newton's brother-in-law and sister, James Isaac ("Ike") Bly and his wife Jennie, moved to Campbell County in central Virginia. They took up a farm and built a house about two miles east of the town of Rustburg, the county seat of Campbell County. The Beelers were among the founders of the Bethany Methodist Church near their home and donated the land for the church and cemetery. Susie died only one month after her sister, Mary Jane, and was the last surviving child of William and Susanna Bly.[1] Newton, Susie and several of their children are buried in the cemetery at Bethel Methodist Church in Campbell County.[2]
