Biography

Walter was a son of Henry Seiberlich and his wife Selma Hoffmann. He was born in Wisconsin in June 1888.

His mother married Henry Boesch, her second husband, in 1895. Walter has been mistakenly identified as Walter Boesch, son of Henry, likely because the 1905 Wisconsin State Census mistakenly recorded Walter with the last name of Boesch.

The 1900 U.S. Census recorded Walter Seiberlich in Mequon, Wisconsin, in the household of 31-year-old farmer "Henry Borsch." Henry and his wife, Selina or Selma Borsch (the record can be read either way), had been married 5 years and Selina/Selma had had 5 children, of whom 4 were living. Children in the household, all born in Wisconsin to parents born in Wisconsin, were Walter Seiberlich, 12, Henry's step-son, born in June 1888; Edgar, 3, Henry's son, born in August 1896; Emily, 1, daughter, born September 1898; and Herbert, 7 months, son, born October 1899.^[1]

The 1905 Wisconsin State Census found 37-year-old Henry Boesch in Mequon, Wisconsin, a farmer, with wife Selma Boesch, 36; and children Walter Boesch, 17 and "farm help"; Edgar Boesch, 8; Emily Boesch, 6; Herbert Boesch, 5; and Elva Boesch, 4. All were born in Wisconsin; the parents of the adults were born in Germany and the children's parents were born in Wisconsins.^[2]

Walther Seiberlich died in Thiensville, Wisconsin, in on 1 February 1906. He was 17 years old. The death record names his parents as Henry Seiberlich and Selma Boesch.^[3]
