Joseph Bond, son of John Bond and Esther Blakely, was born on 14 April 1653 in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[1] As a young boy (about age 10) he moved to Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony with his parents and most of his siblings.
“From June to August 1676, he was a soldier in King Phillip’s War, under the command of Liet. Benjamin. Swett. He took the oath of allegiance 28 Nov. 1677.” [2][3]
On 26 November 1679, Joseph married Sarah Williams, daughter of John Williams and Rebecca Colby, in Haverhill.[4]
Joseph was a farmer.
Joseph and Sarah had the following children, all born in Haverhill:[2][3]
1. Abigail, b. 22 Feb. 1680/1, married 1st Edward Ordway, 2nd Robert Emerson.
2. Esther, b. 22 Apr. 1683, died in infancy.
3. Rebeckah, b. about 1685, married Benjamin Hardy.
4. John, b, 12 Oct. 1688, married Martha Hall.
5. Sarah, b. 15 June 1691, died in infancy.
6. Joseph, b. 6 Apr. 1694, married Elizabeth Simons.
7. Hannah, b. 9 Nov. 1696, married John Atwood.
8. Sarah, b. 16 Jan. 1699/1700, married John Bishop.
9. Mercy, b. 3 Jun. 1702, married Israel Webster.
10. Lydia, b. 3 jun. 1704, married Nathaniel Duston.
11. Mehetablel, b. 9 Jun 1706, died in infancy.
His will was dated 7 December 1724 and probated 22 March 1724/5.[3]
Joseph died on 26 February 1724/5 in Haverhill. His burial place is unknown. [5]
