Theda Thirsa Bosworth was born on 5 May 1871 in Carrollton, Cattaraugus, New York, United States to Alonzo George Bosworth ( 1823-1908) and Sarah R. Adams (1832-1914). She was the fifth of seven children born to this marriage.
