Rhoda AKERS was born about 1806 in Floyd County, Kentucky and died about 1901 in Floyd County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Valentine AKERS and Frances BRANHAM. Her father would have been about 44 years old and her mother would have been about 36 years old at the time of her birth. Her remains were moved from the Branham Cemetery on Mud Creek to make way for the new route 680. She is currently listed as buried in Davidson Memorial Gardens in Ivel, Floyd County, Kentucky on the Find a Grave Site.

The John HOWELL listed in this 1850 census record was probably, John C. HOWELL the son of Thomas HOWELL and Elizabeth MEAD. John C. HOWELL married on 6 January 1841 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Mary J. STURGILL / STURGEON. ^[5] The Jane HOWELL listed was probably his wife, Jane STURGEON / STURGILL, the daughter of Amey STURGEON who was listed as her mother on the marriage record. Note: The family of the bride's surname is sometimes seen as STURGEON and at other times seen as STURGILL in the records.

A Bond was dated on 3 December 1850 in Floyd County, Kentucky for a William STURGEON to marry a Polly BRANHAM.^[6] This was probably the marriage of the Mary BRANHAM listed in the census record, however the identification of both the Polly BRANHAM listed and the Mary BRANHAM in the census record being the same individual has yet to be confirmed.

The identities of the two STURGEON children listed in this household, Dicy STURGEON (Age: 4 Years) and Tamsa STURGEON (Age: 2 Years) are currently unknown, but they could have belonged to either Jane HOWELL or the William STURGEON who married Polly BRANHAM's families as either younger siblings or possibly children from previous marriages. More Research is Needed to confirm their identities.
