Biography

Susan (Bray) Eddy was born in Cornwall, England.

Susan Jane Bray was born in 1869, her birth being registered at Helston, Cornwall in the 3rd quarter of that year^[1]. She was the daughter of William Henry Bray and Mary Jane Brooks.

In the England Census of 1871 Susan J Bray (aged 2) was living with her mother Mary J Bray (28), her father William H Bray (27) and her three siblings Nicholas J Bray (6 and a scholar), Alice A Bray (4) and Elizabeth M Bray (aged 8 months) in Porthallow Cove, St. Keverne, Cornwall.

She was christened on 2 June 1880 at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Sithney, Cornwall^[2].

She may have had a son in 1891: Joseph Henry Bray.

Susan Jane Bray emigrated from England to the United States on board the St Louis arriving on 8 April 1900^[3].

She married Alfred Eddy (also from England, the son of William Eddy and Margaret Matthews) on 4 August 1900 in Gill, Greenfield, Massachusetts ^[4]. She was aged 30, Alfred was 25.

They had at least one son: William Francis Eddy (b. 1901, d. 1963)

Susan and her family lived in Erving, Franklin, Massachusetts.

She passed away in 1933 and was buried at Highland Cemetery, Montague, Franklin County, Massachusetts, United States^[5]
