John was born about 1831.^[1]

He married Julia Gallivan in 1874. ^[2]

They are thought to have had 16 children including:

Before his own death in 1926, he lost three unmarried adult children and his wife. He passed away in January 1926 at the age of 95^[3] and is buried in Old Reefton Cemetery.^{[4] [5]}
