Biography
This Hannah Breed, born 1 Oct 1748 @ Stonington, Connecticut, was the eleventh and final child of Mary (Prentice) Breed (1706-1799) & John Breed Jr. (1700-1781).
She married 07 Mar 1768 Peter Bulkley, Colchester, Connecticut. They had 4 children:
- Peter Bulkley (1770-)
- Prentice Bulkley (1772-1849); married Dimis Bolles
- Hannah (Bulkley) Clark (1775-); married Daniel Clark
- Eunice (Bulkley) Wells (abt.1780-1843); married John Wells
Note that the Breed Family Association records list a fifth child, Lucy Bulkley, born Mar. 9, 1778; the existence of that particular Lucy Bulkley cannot be confirmed at this time. Note also that there could be potential confusion of such person with the Lucy (Bulkley; 1749-1821) who married John Breed, as noted in The Groton Avery Clan [1], but that person was born 4 Aug 1749, and was a daughter of Peter Bulkley (the aunt, sister of the father, of Peter) and Lucy Avery, so was one generation removed. If a primary reference source can be found to verify the existence of a Lucy Bulkley as a fifth child of this Hannah (Breed) and her husband Peter Bulkley then this profile should be edited accordingly.
Hannah (Breed) Bulkley died 2 Mar 1809 in New London County, Connecticut. Her grave is in Colchester Burying Ground, Colchester, New London County, Connecticut, USA [2].
