Biography

Mary Elizabeth (Brevard) Davidson was born on 16 Jun 1748 in Anson County (currently Rowan County) near the Rocky River. She married Gen. William Lee Davidson on 10 Dec 1767 in Rowan County, North Carolina.[1][2] He was killed in the Battle of Cowan's Ford during the American Revolution on 1 February 1781,[3][4] leaving his widow with seven small children:

Mary Elizabeth passed away in Jan 1824 in Kentice (near Russellville), Logan County, Kentucky. She was buried at Hopewell Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Huntersville, Mecklenburg, NC.[5]
