Andrew Laird Britton born 16 Sept 1825 married Ellen Mulqueen 1848 Limerick, Ireland (1 surviving son, all descendants in America). Policeman in Ireland, emigrated to America.
They had seven children but the first six were either stillborn, or died as infants.
Their seventh child was William Wainwright Britton (1859-1947) was Christened in the Episcopal church by this name but was re-baptised in the R Catholic church by his mother and his middle name was changed – William Wood Britton – after a prominent Catholic Bishop of the time.
