Biography

Ada Lizzie Brogdon or Brogden was born in 1867 at Cogges near Witney in Oxfordshire. She was the daughter of William Brogden and Elizabeth Neville. ^{[1] [2]}

In 1871 Ada L. Brogden was living at High Cogges with her parents, William and Elizabeth, and their other children. Her age was given as 3, implying a birth date in 1867 or 1868. Her birthplace was given as Cogges, Oxfordshire. ^[2]

She married Horace Colville around 1889. They lived in Temuka, Canterbury. Their first child, Horace William, born around 1890, accidentally drowned in the Orari River in 1904, aged 14. They subsequently had a daughter, Myra Daphne, in 1905.

She passed away in 1942 at Timaru, aged 74, and was buried at Temuka Cemetery.
