Biography

John Brown was born about 1843 in Pennsylvania. He was the child of abolitionists Catharine and "Uncle" Henry Brown, , and may have been assisting freedom seekers on the Underground Railroad himself. He was also the brother-in-law of Civil War veteran Moses Morris of the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry.
