Obituary

BROWN - David C. Brown, 81, 815 Kishwaukee St., Belvidere, died at 12:35 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 1976, in Highland Hospital, Belvidere, after a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 2, 1895, in Caledonia, son of John P. and Elizabeth [Mary Ellen] Ralston Brown. Lived 16 years in Belvidere, going there from Caledonia.

Married the former Helen Johannsen in Caledonia Oct. 28, 1922. He was a retired farmer, a lifelong member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, Argyle, a 50-year member of Roscoe Masonic Lodge 75 AF & AM, the Farm Bureau and a former member of the Caledonia Grange. Graduated from Wyman Country School, Rockford High School and Brown's Business College.

Survivors include: his widow, Helen, Belvidere; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia (Everett) Worrell, Belvidere; a sister, Mrs. Eleanor Ralston, Rockford, and two grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; a son, David G. Brown; a brother, William R. Brown, and two grandchildren.

Services at 1:30 p.m. Monday in WITBECK-WHEELER-SABIEN FUNERAL HOME, 203 Logan Ave., Belvidere, with Rev. Lester Reemstma, pastor of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, officiating and Rev. Duane Heap, pastor of First United Presbyterian Church. [Burial in] Scottish Cemetery, Argyle. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. A memorial has been established in his name to the Willow Creek Presbyterian Church. ^[4]
