Union City Evening Times,Thurs.,July 1,1937 Died---Mrs. Emma Patterson,69 years old,who for the last year had been a boy's governess at the Darke County Children's Home,died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Greenville hospital following a short illness. She was a half-sister of the late Anna Mosey Butler,who as "Annie Oakley" became world renowned as a marksman. A half-brother,John Mosey, Greenville,is the lone survivor of the pioneer Darke county family.

(Miller Funeral Home Records stated that she was born May 2,1868 at Versailles,OH,the daughter of Daniel Brumbaugh and Susan Wise (Harrisburg,PA.). She was buried on July 4,1937 at Sugar Grove Cem.,Miami Co.,OH. Her spouse,who died Dec. 23,1920,was Jacob Patterson.)

Research into Census records and on rootsweb found they were the parents of three children: Orville b. Nov. 1887, Bonnie A. b. Mar. 4,1889 Shelby Co.,OH m. Rush Blakely b. Mar. 2,1965 Darke Co.,OH and Irene b. Aug. 1899. Irene was still at home in 1920. Father: Daniel Brumbaugh b: ABT 1810 in Ohio Mother: Susannah Wise b: ABT 1832 in Pennsylvania Marriage 1 Jacob R.
