Michel Brunet (dit Letang) was born about 1668 somewhere in Canada, Nouvelle-France[3]. He is the son of Mathieu Brunet dit Lestang and Marie Blanchard.

Contrat de mariage entre Michel Brunet dit Lestang fils de Mathieu Brunet dit Lestang et de Marie Blanchard de Montréal d ’une part; et Marie Moisan, fille de Nicolas Moisan et de Jeanne Vallée de cette île d ’autre part (21 novembre 1692). Notaire Claude Maugue[4]


He married Madeleine Moisan, daughter of Nicolas Moisan dit La Palisse and Le Parisien and Jeanne Vallée, October 7, 1692, in Notre-Dame of Montreal, . She died in February 1713. He then married Anne Elisabeth Hémério dite Belaire, daughter of François Bélair and Isabelle Fressel July 10, 1713 in Montreal.

I don't believe that Mathurin and Mathieu runet are the same person, Mathurin marred a Marie Brunet and Mathieu; Mrie Blanchard. Antoine is Mathurin's only recorded child thus far.
