Biography

Winifred Brydges was the daughter of John Brydges of London and his wife, Agnes Ayloffe. ^[1][2][3]

Before 1536 Winifred married Sir Richard Sackville of Buckhurst in Sussex and of Westenhanger in Kent, ^[3][1]son of John Sackville and his wife, Margaret Boleyn.^[2] They were the parents of 3 sons and a daughter. ^[2]

Richard Sackville died on 21 April 1566.^[2]

By this time in her fifties Winifred married John Paulet, later 2nd Marquess of Winchester,^{[2] [3][1]} son of William Paulet and his wife, Elizabeth Capel about 1571.^[4]They were, of course, childless. John died at Chelsea 4 November 1576 and was buried at Basing.^[4]

Winifred died 16 June 1586 Chelsea and was buried in Wesminster Abbey.^[4]
