Biography

Samuel Elias Bubar was born in 1821 in Durham Bridge, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the son of James Bubar and Mary Brown. He married Delana (Laney) Estey on July 2, 1846, [1]in York, New Brunswick, Canada. They had nine children in 22 years. He died on August 28, 1872, in his hometown at the age of 51, and was buried in the Nashwaak Centennial United Church Cemetery, Nashwaak, York County, New Brunswick, Canada[2] [3][4]

Residence

1851 In 1851 Samuel Bubar and his family resided in a log cabin at Lower Durham, York County, N.B., probably on Lot Number Twenty Nine in Block Number Four lying on the south side of the Lower Durham Settlement road. This lot was vacant Crown land at the time and, on January 15th, 1866, Samuel Bubar conveyed his improvements on the lot to John Estey by quit claim deed. Lot Number Twenty Nine was later granted to the said John Estey. Samuel Bubar was a lumberman all his lifetime, and at the time of his decease, was engaged in a large lumber business. 1851 Nashwaak, York, New Brunswick, Canada.[5]
