William Buchanan ... born abt 1800 in Buncomb, NC
Husband of Margaret Stiles (a daughter of Sgt John Stiles b 1757) On March 26, 1816, William Buchanan and John Stiles took out a bond for the marriage of William Buchanan and Margaret Stiles, daughter of John Stiles.

William R. Buchanan was issued 75 acres of land on 06 Dec 1852 in Macon County, located " On Savannah River (creek)". This was recorded in Land Patent Book 156 page 297 as Macon County Grant # 1077. the original request for this land was entered on 01 Jul 1848 and assigned Macon County Entry # 4897. It took 4 years and 5 months to issue the grant.
