Kessler/Newton I have less historical information on. I recently post history of my father Olla Al Kessler (amazing military career).

Hi, Paul

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Looking for Military records Horatio V Philpott 1789-1871. Receive new documented information from Wiki-Brother that H. V. Philpott SR had the rank of General in the Alabama Militia 1838. Thanks everyone with input, make Wikitree my favorite ancestor site.

Now that I know H V Philpott (3rd G. Grandfather) I wanted to know more about what was going on in Alabama in 1830. I found this site with excellent summary https://encyclopediaofalabama.org/article/territorial-period-and-early-statehood/

Where were your Newton's from Paul? I have kin with Newton ancestors in Estill, Clark and Owsley counties in Kentucky.
