Biography

Lilly May was born about 1881. She was the daughter of Hamilton Buell and Florence Kezar[1].

In 1885[2] she was living in Bradford, Iowa with her father, mother, and sister Elizabeth, and by 1900, her brothers Frank, Jesse, and Lucius[3].

In 1900 she married Chandler Eugene Miller in New Hampton, Iowa[4].

On 8 October 1900, she had her first daughter Esther Miller[5]

On 6 March 1906, she had her daughter Ruth Zeola in Waukegan Lake, Illinois [6].

By 1910, the family was in Texarkana, Texas. Her husband Chandler was employed by the railway, and they were living with her father in law Edmond, Brother-in-law Leslie, and children Esther (9), Ruth (4), and Edmond (3)[7].

On 12 October 1911, her daughter Grace Victoria was born and the family had made their way to Oregon City, Oregon[8].

On 30 March 1918, she had her daughter Margaret Marie in Tillamook, Oregon[9]

By 1920 the family was living in Grays Harbor, Washington with husband Chandler, and children Esther (19), Ruth (13), Edmond (12), Iola (9), Grace (8), Opal (6), Harold (3), and Marie (1)[10].

On 3 February 1922, she had her son Leslie C in Washington [11].

On 4 May 1925, she had her daughter Alta Virgina in Washington [12]

In 1930, the family was living in Fort Lewis, Washington with her husband Chandler, and children Harold (13). Margaret Marie (12), Leslie (8), and Alta (4) [13].

On 18 September 1930, her oldest daughter Esther married George Boyd in Glendale, Los Angeles, California[14].

On 18 November 1932, her daughter Opal Estella married Henry Raymond Rivers in Lewis, Washington[15].

On 8 September 1936, her daughter Margaret Marie married Theodore Hunt in Los Angeles, California[16].

On 23 June 1938 her daughter Grace Victoria married Edgar Gene Gingles in Los Angeles, California[17].

In 1940, she was living in Washington County, Oregon, near Laurelwood Academy with her husband Chandler and their daughter Alta[18]. Her brother Frank also lived in Washington Oregon with his son Edgar at this point in time .

On 22 June 1940, her son Harold, married Marion Louise Ringer in Los Angeles, California[19] .

By 1942, she was living in Santa Monica California with Chandler[20].

Her husband Chandler passed away in 1950 [21].

In 1954, she was living in Riverside, California and visited her daughter Ruth in Portland, Oregon [22]

She died on 16 July 1973 in Napa, California[23]. An obituary published in Napa, CA on 17 July 1973 it showed that Lilly died in St. Helena where she lived on 16 July 1973.

She is buried in Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside, California with her husband Chandler[24]
