Birth and Parents

Sybil (Burdick) Howard was born in New York.

Sybil, the sixth of twelve children of Jedediah Burdick was born on 14 September 1803 at Easton, New York.

Marriage and Children

Sybil married John C. Howard (1794-1881) in 1824 at Grafton, Rensselaer, New York. They had eight children born at New York:

  1. Elijah B. Howard (b. 1826; d. 1918) m. say 1849 Catherien (Unknown) (1832-1857)
  2. Mariah C. Howard (b. 1828; d. 1912) m. 1 Mar 1826, Green Tilley (1817-1894)
  3. Daniel B. Howard (b. 1830; d. 1843)
  4. Eunice A. Howard (b. 1832; d. 1922) m. say 1856, William Barber Odell (1827-1914)
  5. Joel Thurston Howard (b. 1834; d. 1869) m. 26 Mar 1859 at Grafton, NY, Susannah Mahala Sweet (1840-1866)

In 1850, Sybil (46 years, b. NY) and husband John (56, b. NY) and their children Eunice (17 years, b. NY), Joel T. (15 years, b. NY), Isabel S. (15 years, b. NY), George W. (10 years, b. NY) and Mary J. ( 9 years, b. PA) were living at Grafton, Rensselaer, New York.[1]

Death and Burial

Sybil (Burdick) Howard died on 8 March 1881 in her 77th year at Grafton, and is buried in Grafton Center Cemetery at Grafton, Rensselaer, New York.[2]
