JOHN BURROWS married Hannah Culver December 14, 1670. They resided in Groton, Connecticut. He was one of the patentees of the amended charter of the New London settlement which up to 1704 included Groton. Members of first Congregational Church of Stonington but also liberal supporters of the First Baptist Church of Gorton. They had nine children - five boys and four girls - John, Mary, Hannah, Margaret, Samuel, Robert, Abigail, Jeremiah end Isaac. Died 12 Feb 1715/6Groton, New London, Connecticut. Burial 1716 in Wightman Burying Grounds adjoining the now vacant First Baptist Church Stone inscribed J B 74 died 1716, Groton, New London, Connecticut.

Note: He was the sole heir of his father and inherited a large amount of land. His grave is covered with a large flat stone known as a wolf stone to keep the grave from being dug up by animals.
