Biography

Mary was listed on the 1870 US CENSUS as 26 years old and living in TN. in a household of 13 people. Father listed as William E. Byrd and mother is listed as Susan Byrd.

Also Cora Bell Levy's Death Record in TX, lists father as Robert C. Tate and mother as Mary Byrd. We know Cora Bell was Curran's sister from the 1880 US CENSUS. Byrd-455 and Byrd-1942 appear to represent the same person because: obvious match

Maggie N. From what I have been able to determine: Mariah and Mary are sisters. Mary first marries Mr. Tate in 1872, they have about 6 children, Mary dies in 1883 and in 1889 he marries Mariah. According to the 1920 Census Mariah has never had children, in a nutshell!!

Did Mariah Byrd aka Mary Byrd marry twice or are two sisters being confused as the same person ?

Are Mariah Byrd and Mary Byrd sisters or the same person ? The reason I ask is because Marian is sometimes a nickname for Mary.
