Elsie Cairncross (married name Horsburgh) was born in 1902 in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Elizabeth Cairncross and William Black Cairncross.^[1]

She married Charles Cooper Horsburgh in 1926 in Victoria.^[2]

Elsie died on 25 October 1987 in South Melbourne, Victoria^[3][4] and was cremated at the Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Springvale, Greater Dandenong City, Victoria, Australia and her ashes were scattered ^[5].
