Biography

Olive Caissie was born on 5 Nov 1846 and baptized the next day in Grande-Digue, New Brunswick, the daughter of Didace Caissie and Bibianne LeBlanc.[1][2] Her godparents were Dominique Caissie and Olive LeBlanc.

In the 1861 census Olive (age 14) lived with her parents and siblings in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[3]

In the 1871 census Olive (age 24) was in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[4]

Olive was likely the mother of two children born out of wedlock;

  1. Marie Caissie, baptized 28 Apr 1878
  2. Thomas Caissie, baptized 17 Dec 1882

Olive married Paulin LeBlanc on 27 Jan 1884 in Cocagne.[5][6] Their son was:

  1. Moïse LeBlanc, born 22 Jul 1886

In the 1901 census Olive (age 53), pauper, was a widowed lodger in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[7] Her date of birth was given as 16 Nov 1847.
