Biography

Dosithée Caissie was born on 31 Dec 1839 and baptized on 1 Jan 1840 in Grande-Digue, New Brunswick, the son of Rémi Caissie and Modeste LeBlanc.[1][2]

Dosithée married Gertrude LeBlanc on 3 Feb 1868 in Grande-Digue.[3][4][5] Their parents were not named in the marriage record. They were both noted as being from the parish of Shediac. Witnesses were Dosithée McGrath and Philomène LeBlanc.

In the 1871 census Dosety, age 29, farmer, was in Shediac, Westmorland, New Brunswick with his wife Girtrude, children John and Olive, his brother Totim [Théotime] and mother Modes.[6]

In the 1881 census Dositay, age 30, farmer, was in Alnwick, Northumberland, New Brunswick in the household of his father-in-law Damien White.[7]
