Biography

Philippe Caissie was born on 18 Dec 1898 in Grande-Digue, Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Amand Caissie (1874 - 1957) and Marie (Cormier) Caissie (1876 - 1958).

Excerpt from Obituary

Philippe Caissie, 96, of Villa Providence Home, Shediac and formerly of Grande-Digue passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 19, 1995. Born December 18, 1898 in Grande-Digue, he was the son of the late Armand and Marie(Cormier) Caissie. He was employed as a fisherman for 52 years until retirement. He was a member of the Golden Age Club, Grande-Digue. He is survived by his wife, four daughters and two sons. three sisters,one brother; 36 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren;several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters, Ozelie Boudreau, Marguerite Boudreau, Roseanne Arsenault, Sr. Aline Caissie; two brothers, Amand and Joseph. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., Main St., Shediac. Funeral Mass will be held at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue, on Saturday, April 22, 1995 at 10 a.m. Interment in Parish Cemetery.
