Biography

Daughter of Alex J. Carey 1835-1901 and Ruth Hall 1838-1921.

Annie was aged 1 in 1870 living in Wells Township, Jefferson, Ohio; her father Alexander was age 29 b Ohio; her mother Ruth was age 28 b Ohio; her sister Laura Carey was age 12 b Ohio; her brother John Carey was age 9 b Ohio; her brother Allen Carey was age 5 b Ohio.^[1]

Annie in 1880 was age 11. Her father Alexander Carey was age 46; he was a broom maker; his parents were born in Maryland. Her mother Ruth Carey was age 43 b in Ohio as were her parents. Brother John H Carey was age 19 b Ohio. Brother Allen Carey was age 15 b Ohio. Sister Hellen Carey was age 8 b Ohio. Sister Lizzie Carey was age 7 b Ohio. Sister Emma Carey was age 1 b Ohio.^[2]

Annie was age 20 when she married Johnston Harden Lisle 13 Feb 1889 in Jefferson County, Ohio.^[3]

They were the parents of Roy St. Elmo Lisle, Harry Chester Lisle, Myrtle Hope Lisle, Lawrence Wayne Lisle, John Dean Lisle, Jessie Lowe Lisle 1902-1909 (died of diphtheria), Emmett Rol Lisle, Frank Cecil Lisle and George W. Lisle.
