Biography

Cordelia Grace Carpenter was born on 5th July 1865 in Raymond Terrace, New South Wales (Australia). She was the eldest daughter of Henry Carpenter and Mary Foot. [1]

Cordelia married Alfred Doust on 5th January 1887 in Lismore, New South Wales. [2] They had a son and five daughter:

  1. Reverend Raymond Henry Doust (1891-1969)
  2. Ella Edith Doust (1891-1972), married surname Lyle
  3. Annie Lenore Doust (1893-1944)
  4. Edna G Doust (1896-)
  5. Beryl Rona Constance Doust (1904-92), married surname Manyweathers
  6. Marjorie Lucy Doust (1907-39), married surname Kennedy

Cordelia and Alfred's Golden Wedding Anniversary was announced in the Northern Star newspaper on 5th January 1937:

"GOLDEN WEDDING
"DOUST-CARPENTER. January 5th, 1887, at Lismore, by the late Rev. James H. Lewin, Alfred Thomas Doust to Cordelia Grace Carpenter. Present address, 51 Alice Street, Auburn, N.S.W." [3]

Aged 90 years, Cordelia passed away on 26th December 1955 in Strathfield, New South Wales. [4]
