Biography

Alexander John Carrier was born on September 25, 1884, in Restigouche, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the son of Joseph Carrier and Marie Hickey, his father, Joseph, was 43 and his mother, Marie, was 42. He married Mary Rose Lebreux on 13 Jul 1908 [1]in Restigouche, New Brunswick, Canada, and they had four children together. He then married Marie "Lucie" Lapointe on 21 Jul 1926 • in Restigouche, New Brunswick, Canada[2]and they had two children together. He died iabout 1936 in Jacquet River, New Brunswick, Canada.

On 13 Jul 1908, Alexandre Carrier, a 24 year old laborer born at Lorne, Victoria County, New Brunswick, married Marie Rosalie Lebreux, 17, born at Paleau(?), Québec, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Nash Creek, Restigouche, New Brunswick. Alexandre's parents were Joseph Carrier and Marie Hickey. Bride Marie was the daughter of Narcisse Lebreux and Rosalie Francoeur. The witnesses were Willie/Millie Carrier and Marie Godin, both of Nash's Creek. The ceremony was performed by J. Z. Lambert(?), P of Nash's Creek.[3][4] Alexander and Marie Rosalie had at least the following children:

  • Marie Beatrice, b. ca. 1910; m. Wilfred Doucet 8 June 1927.[5]
  • Mary Theresa Carrier, b. ca. 1911; m. Frank X. Lavigne 25 Nov 1926.[6]
  • Marion, b. ca. 1914; m. Stephen Ferlatte 28 Nov 1932.[7]

Alex. J. Carrier, a 41 year old widower, married for a second time to Lucy or Lucie Lapointe, a 27 year old widow, on 21 July 1926 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Nash Creek. She was the daughter of William and Emilie Lapointe. The witnesses to the ceremony, performed by the Rev. E. de la Garde, were Frank Lavigne and Therese Carrier. All the parties signed with their mark, not signature.[8] Alexandre and Lucy had at least the following children:

  • Donat Jos Baptiste Carrier, b. ca. 1930; m. Mary Opal Mallaly 06 Dec 1949[9]
  • Alexandre, b. ca. 1932; m. Rose-Isabelle Smith 22 June 1948[10]
  • Umeir Benjiman Corrier, b. 26 Feb 1936; d. 26 Jul 1936[11]

    On 8 June 1927, Beatrice Carrier, the 17 year old the daughter of Alexander J. Carrier and Marie (LeBl--x?), married Wilfred Doucet, a 20 year old laborer, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Nash Creek. The bride and groom were both were born in Lorne, as was the bride's father. Wilfred was the son of Major Doucet and Emelie Herland. The witnesses were Edward Carigne and Elizabeth Carrier, both of Lorne. The ceremony was performed by Rev. E. de la Garde(?).

Frank, a laborer, was born in Lorne, Victoria County, New Brunswick, the son of Albert Lavigne, born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, and Louise Hickey. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Eugene de la Garde, and the witnesses were Wilfred Doucet and Beatrice Carrier, both of Lorne.

He was a 27 year old bachelor farmer born at Jacquet River, the son of William Isaac Ferlatte and Elizabeth Lagacé. She was born at Nash Creek, the daughter of Alexander Carrier, who was also born at Nash Creek, and Marie LeCreux/Lebreux. The witnesses were Arthur Arsenault of Jacquet River and Elizabeth Cormier(?) of Nash Creek.
