He married 1st Louisa Jones Pratt on Dec 2 1830 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts [2][3]. She was born Aug 5 1809 in Boston, Suffolk, Mass to Eleazer Pratt and Mary Jones. She died Feb 10 1844 in Boston, Suffolk, Mass. She was initially buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Middlesex, Mass. She was later buried with the family at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester, Suffolk, Mass. [1][4]
He married 2nd Sarah 'Sally' Ann Pratt June 15 1845 in Mass. She was born Mar 6 1813 in Charlestown, Suffolk, Mass to Silas Pratt and Sarah 'Sally' Hobbs. She was married 1st to Royal E Loomis Porter Jun 20 1831 in Charlestown, Suffolk, Mass, with whom she had 3 children. (Royal was born Feb 24 1801 in Williamstown, Berkshire, Mass and died Jun 13 1844 in Charleston, Dorchester, South Carolina). She died Jul 13 1910 Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts [5] and is buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester, Suffolk, Mass.[1][6]

Aug 1 1856, Nathan, age 47, applied for a new passport [14]
1865, Nathan, age 56, applied for a new passport. His brother, Francis Sumner Carruth was his witness. [15]
Oct 28 1865, he returned to Boston, Massachusetts from a trip to England on SS Africa. He is listed as Occupation Merchant. [16]
Feb 19 1873, Nathan, age 64, applied for a new Passport. His old passport had been issued Nov 8 1869. He was 6 feet tall.[17]
He passed away May 19 1881 in Dorchester, Suffolk, MA. He is buried with the family at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester, Suffolk, Mass. [1][4]
