Biography

Joseph Carter Jr was one of the Founding Fathers of St. Albans Vermont.

Joseph was born in 1758, son of Joseph and Ruth (Curtis) Carter.

In 1782, he married Dorcas Munson, daughter of Timothy and Sarah (Bishop) Munson. They had eight children:[1][2]

  1. Ira (b-1783)
  2. Orra (b-1784) died young
  3. Joseph (b-1787)
  4. Adonijah (b-1789)
  5. Electa (b-1790) married Carter
  6. Erastus
  7. Harry died young
  8. Munson

Joseph passed away in 1802.
