Jean Bernardin is the name used in Nos Origines. (This stems from Jetté wo lists him thus in the listing of his parents, and changed it to Joseph Bernardin on the individual entry for Joseph himself.[1] His marriage lists him as Joseph Bernardin (not Bernard as entered on IGD's fiche for him).
Joseph was born in about 1704. A baptismal record has not been identified as his. His parents were Paul Chalifou and his wife Marie Jeanne Philippeau.
Joseph Chalifour entered into a marriage contract with Marguerite Labreque before notary Jean Étienne Dubreuil on 1 August 1726. (his parents are named on the act)[2]
