Mary was born in 1918. She is the daughter of George Chambers and Mary Thompson. She passed away in 2004.

Betty Sharp, 85, of Huntsville, passed away May 26, 2004, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. Born in Scott County, July 29, 1918, she was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Mary Elizabeth Thompson Chambers; her husband, Garland Sharp; two sisters, Mazie George and Gladys Cross; and one brother, Milford Spot Chambers. She was a nurse at the Thompson Clinic and Scott County Hospital for approximately 40 years; and served as director of nursing at Scott County Hospital before retiring. She was a member of Paint Rock Baptist Church. She is survived by two sisters: Alta Sexton and Margaret Leeper, both of Huntsville; two brothers: Roy Chambers and wife, June, of Oak Ridge; and Herbert Chambers and wife, Nona Lee, of Huntsville; one sister-in-law, Shirley Chambers of Nashville; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted May 28, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. George Harold Sexton officiating. Music was provided by Karen Ellis. Graveside service was conducted May 29, in Potter Cemetery. Four Oaks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
