Biography

Lula^[1] was born in 1885. She was the daughter of Purnell Houghton Chesser and Theodosia Ayres. Lula married Frank Wilkins Bull in 1918. She passed away in 1961.

Lula was a twin of Lillie Grace Chesser.

Lula F. Chesser was born on 24 February 1885 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Lula F. Chesser, born 24 Feb 1885 in Accomack Co, the daughter of Purnell Chesser, an oysterman, living in Acc Co, & Theodocia, a twin. Her mother gave the information.^[1]

Frank Wilkins Bull and Lula F. Chesser were married by Lula F. Chesser on 9 January 1918 at Mappsville, Accomack Co, VA; He was shown as Frank Wilkins Bull, age 39, the son of William H. Bull & Catherine Bull and she was shown as Lula Chesser, age 32, the daughter of Purnell H. Chesser & Theodosia Chesser.^[2]

As of 9 January 1918,her married name was Bull.^[2]

She died on 25 December 1961 at Florida at age 76. Mrs. Lula Chesser Bull, age 76, of Wabasso, died Monday. She moved here two and a half years ago from Pocomoke City, MD. Mrs. Bull is survived by her husband, Frank W. Bull; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Dennis, Pocomoke City, MD; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Barnes, Nelsonia, Va. and Mrs. A.S. Pharr, Wabasso; and four brothers, Warren L. Chesser and J. Phamey Chesser, Wabasso, Lawrence L. Chesser, Assawoman, Va. and Lemuel F. Chesser, Sebastian. Private funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the home of Mrs. A.S. Pharr in Wabasso. Burial will be at Crestlawn Cemetery with the Floyd Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.^[3]

Lula was buried at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach, Indian River Co, FL.^[3]
