Per the Peerage of Scotland (https://archive.org/details/scotspeeragefoun03pauluoft/page/568/mode/2up) it looks like he also married Helen Bryson Bruce (Bruce-2102). Would you be able to connect the two? Much obliged.

This is not really my area of interest, so I'll leave it to you. However, I note that the dates clearly suggest that : (1) the father was Patrick Cheyne 8th (VIII) of Essilmont who married Christian Hepburn, and (2) the son was Patrick Cheyne 9th (IX) of Essilmont who married Magdalen Fraser.
Can you please rectify the current anomaly?
