Biography
Alexander (Chisholm) de Chisholm VIIIth Chisholm of Chisholm is a member of Clan Chisholm.
Alexander was born about 1380. He is the second son of Sir Robert de Chisholm of Chisholm and Margaret Haliburton.
He succeeded as 8th Chisholm of Chisholm and Chief of Clan Chisholm on the death of his elder brother, Sir John de Chisholm.
- He married Margaret, Lady of Erchless, daughter of Weyland of the Aird.[1] Through his marriage, Alexander added the Erchless Castle estates near Struy in Inverness-shire belonging to his wife to those he inherited from his brother.
He passed away about 1440.
