Calogero Cinquemani is the son of Antonino Cinquemani, age 46 (b. 1801), agricola, and Lucia Raineri, age 35 (b. 1812). He is born 9 August 1847 in their home in Corleone and baptized the next day. His godparents are Giovanni Spirido Costantino and Giuseppa Fascella, a married couple.[1][2]
Calogero marries twice, first to Francesca Misseri (or Missero), a contadina (peasant) on 28 April 1873.[3]
Francesca dies in the hospital two years later, on 3 May 1875.[4][5]
Second Marriage, to Maria Agata Palazzo
Calogero marries Maria Agatha Palazzo on 1 October 1876.
They have four children who are documented in the Church record: two daughters named Antonina (1877 and 1884), Lucia (1880), and Anna (1884). There is an open issue regarding the second daughter named Antonina.
Antonina is born and baptized on 17 July 1877. Her godparents are Biagio Palazzo and Antonina Palazzo, consubrini innupti, "produced from two sisters", and both unmarried. [6]
Lucia is born 22 May 1880 and baptized Luciam on 23 May. Her godparents are Antonino Palmeri and Marianna Bianchino.[7]
Anna is born and baptized 13 September 1884. Her godparents are Silvestre Vintaloro and Pietra Ciravolo. [8]
Open issue: According to a Church death record, Calogero and Agata have a daughter named Antonina on 15 April 1884, who dies on 1 March 1885.[9] It would be impossible for them to have a baby in April and again five months later, in September of the same year. If the death record is correct about the name, it's possible there is a second daughter named Antonina who is closer in age to that reported. If the record is mistaken about the name as well as the age, it may be Anna's death record. The first daughter named Antonina lives to emigrate in 1898, based on her age at travel, and Anna does not emigrate with her parents and siblings, suggesting she has died by this time.
Open issue: There are marriage allegati linking Calogero with Calogera Cariamo in 1883. Their supporting records do not include a certificate that they have completed publication requirements for marriage. They include a death record for Francesca Raineri.
On the Tartar Prince, arriving in New York on 17 October 1898 from Genoa, Italy, are the following passengers from Corleone. All are going on to New Orleans:

Palazzo’s wife and cousin are on the same voyage, going to Salvatore in Bertrandville, a place in Plaquemines Parish.
