DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Barnhardt by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Clapp-1129 and Clapp-285 appear to represent the same person because: This is the son of John Ludwig and not the son of George Valentine so these should merge with John Ludwig as the father (I wasn't able to replace the parents as somebody is project protected)
Clapp-1129 and Clapp-285 are not ready to be merged because: More research is needed. I found one reference that indicates George Valentine had a son named Bernhardt died 1808 • Barnett, Forest, Pennsylvania no spouse or children listed.
The Steve Clapp reference (which seems pretty thorough) has him as son of John Ludwig and George Valentine doesn't have a son Barnhardt there. There is no picture on the Find A Grave M=memorial so that death number could be 1`803 or 1808.
Thank you. NOTE Parent conflict but one profile has no sources and one does
