1870 Alabama Death Roll for Covington County lists:
Clark, Marion, age 20, white male, single, born in Alabama. Occupation; Farmhand. Died in January. Cause of death: Shot by accident.
A story passed down to William Orester Clark by George L. "Buddy" Clark was that the oldest child of John & Elzada Clark was named Aaron. He died at about the age of 18 years, when the muzzle loading gun, that he had propped on a fallen tree, fell and discharged.
(We believe the name Aaron should be Marion as in Francis Marion Clark.)
