Biography

This profile is part of the Clezie Name Study.

Christian Clazy was born in 1821. She was the daughter of George Clazy and Robina Bell. The record of her baptism on 17 July 1821 showed “Christian Clezy” daughter of George Clezy & Rabina Bell.

Some later records showed her name as Christina but all earlier ones say Christian, which was then usually a girl's name. The spelling of the surname varied: Clazy, Clezy, and other versions.

Christian married William Taylor in 1869 but their four children appear to have been born much earlier, between about 1850-60. Maybe she was actually their stepmother? Unknown. Taylor was such a common surname that there could well be confusion.

Christian / Christina passed away in 1907.
