Lettice Clues was born in the village of Lamesley, Durham, in 1859 and was the third daughter of James Clues and Elizabeth Hall.[1]
On the 1861 census, Lettice, aged 2 years, is living on Barnsley Lane, Lamesley, with her parents and siblings: Jane (14 years), William (11 years), James (8 years) and Margaret (6 years).[2]
On the 1871 census, Lettice, aged 12 years, is living on Barnsley Lane, Lamesley, with her parents and siblings: Jane (24 years), James (18 years) and Margaret (16 years). Her mother died not long after the census was taken.[3]
Lettice married Smith Errington in Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1880 and they had two children.[4]
