Harriett and siblings were dispersed among friends and relatives after the post-war death of both parents.Their Dad served 34th Regiment Ala Infantry in Gen Hood's E.Tenn. to Atlanta Campaign.He was one of the few of the 34th to survive to the end.Survived majorbattlesMurphreesboro,Nashville,

Missionary Ridge, and Atlanta. to surrender on 4/26/1865.
