Biography

Andrew Coffman, son of Andrew Coffman and Betsy Kincaid, was born on 16 Sep 1799 and died c.1884. He married Anna Kirkpatrick (b.1803) on 9 Sep 1819. [1][2]

The Kauffman genealogy records that by 1830 Andrew and Anna had 2 sons and 3 daughters, and that they moved to Bradley Co., TN in 1837. [2]

The Kauffman genealogy also records that they moved to Hot Spring, Arkansas in 1852. [2] However, Andrew and Anna Coffman and their children are recorded in Hot Spring at the time of the 1850 census, and this is assumed to be the same family : Andrew Coffman, farmer (age 53), with (presumed) wife Anna (age 47) and children Elizabeth (18), Sterling (15), and Margaret A. (7), all b. TN. [3]

Andrew and Anna are believed to be the parents of :

  1. Hugh (1821-1912) m. Salome Jane Seabord [2]
  2. Elizabeth b.c.1832 [3]
  3. Sterling b.c.1835 [3] (named in the Kauffman genealogy as "S.C. b.1826") [2]
  4. Margaret b.c.1843 [3]
