Biography
Mehitable was born in Maine, in about the year 1775.[1][2]
She married Nathaniel Swan. She was said to be "of Sutton, Massachusetts". They lived in Bethel, Maine, and had the following children:[3]
- Esther Parker, born July 2, 1798; died December 11, 1800
- Joseph Greeley, born March 22, 1808; married Mary (Adams) Burnham
- Esther, born December 31, 1801; married Hazen Koech
- Julia, born February 13, 1804; married Ransom Twitchell
- Jonathan, born May 14, 1806
- Abigail, born March 20, 1808
- Joshua G., born January 8, 1814; married Julia Goodenow
- Huldah, married Moses Twitchell
- Mehitable, born November 10, 1819
Mehitable died on September 9, 1852, at the age of 77. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Bethel.[2]
