George Coleman was a Texan.

Father of Bessie Coleman, a notable American female aviator and, who was honored with an United States Mint Postage Stamp.[1]

George was born about 1854 to 1858 depending on which Census you view and he was a sharecropper.

Research Notes

NO record of George has been located past the 1900 Census but a note on his wife's Find A Grave memorial indicates that he died in 1911 in Ellis County, Texas but no supporting evidence.
