Biography
Roseanna was born about 1823 in Laurens County, SC. She was the first child and daughter of John Compton, Jr. and Mattie Sloan. She married James Patton as listed in the 1850 Census. they are also listed as next door neighbors to Martha Compton and her family. Several of the family lived on the Compton Farm; each had their own little house.[1]
