KEZIAH CONE

Born: July 12 1780 Barnwell District South Carolina Died: 1849 Lowndes County Ga. Daughter of Captain William Cone-Sister to Joseph Cone. Married WILLIAM DAMPIER Sr.-1801 Barnwell Dist. South Carolina Son of Daniel Dampier William was born 1780 in Effingham County Ga and Died 1848 Lowndes County Ga. { NOTE } WILLIAM DAMPIER grew to manhood in Effingham and Screven Co Ga. and married his wife KEZIAH CONE who was a Resident of Barnwell District South Carolina when married and was born there in 1780. All other children were born in Georgia except ELIZABETH who was born in South Carolina. After living a few years in S.C. a few years William moved back to Ga. and lived in Bulloch County. until c. 1812 when he moved to tattnall County Ga. There his family lived until 1827 when they moved to Lowndes County Georgia where he acquired land--Cleared up a large Plantation and lived until his death in 1848 His Widow KEZIAH Survived him.

JAMES DAMPIER and ISRAEL FOLSOM were Administrators of The Estate of WILLIAM DAMPIER One Appraisement Book-the only one saved when the Ordinary Office in Lowndes County georgia burned c. 1872 shows that the Estate owned 13 Grown Slaves and 3 Slave Children. 247 acres of Land of other property. The Estate was appraised march 23 1848 By: IVY SIMMONS JOHN BRYAN II WILLIAM SHARP WILLIAM G LANE JAMES O GOLDWIRE and of whom were his neighbors.

Final return of the Administrators was filed June 28 1850 and showed the Widow and each of the children above named except MARTHA received $ 452.36 each in full settlement WILLIAM DAMPIER MATTIE DAMPIER ELEANOR DAMPIER married WILLIAM E KNIGHT MARTHA DAMPIER MARIAH DAMPIER JAMES DAMPIER
