Biography

Francis P Conn was born about 1819 in Pennsylvania[1] or in 1822.[2]

He married Mary Mills on May 28, 1844 in Jefferson County, Ohio.[3]

Mary and Frank are found in Brooke County, Virginia with 3 young children in the 1850 census.[1] By 1859 they are in Steubenville, Ohio.

Distressing Suicide - Mrs. Mary Conn, wife of Frank P. Conn, (a Saddler by trade), committed suicide last night, by hanging herself with a rope to a joist in the kitchen adjoining the dwelling, where she resided. Her body was discovered a short time after life had become extinct. She had been subject to attacks of insanity for some months, caused, we understand, by faithlessness, neglect and absence on the part of her husband, who if all reports are true, she "loved not wisely, but too well." On receiving a short and very unsatisfactory letter from her husband last week, who has been absent for some time, and hearing that he had been arrested on charge of counterfeiting, she exhibited signs of returning insanity, was greatly distressed, and in her agony of mind, severed her connection with this world, as above described, last night. Her maiden name was Mills. She is connected with some of our most worthy families, and leaves four little children and a large circle of friends and acquaintances to mourn her death. This is, indeed, a sad case.[4]

He married again to an Elizabeth.[2]

Frank died on December 31, 1892 and is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Wellsville (Columbiana County), Ohio.[2]

Francis was born around 1818, so the Francis that marries this Mary Mills is most likely a different Francis. =P However, I did find a Francis out in Boone, Cass County, Indiana(where about Thomas' late wife went) who was married to a Sarah. Considering Francis was in Thomas' will and I can't find him in the area in 1860, I assume he followed Mary out to west.
