Biography

Phillip was born about 1832 and baptised 17 June 1832 in St Agnes, son of Phillip and Mary Ann of Goshen^[1]

In the 1841 census, Phillip Coombe (40), Mary Coombe (35), John Coombe (15), Phillip Coombe (9), Susan Coombe (6) and William Coombe (3) are living at Goshen, Perranzabuloe^[2]

In the 1851 census, Philip Coombe (19, lead miner born Perranzabuloe) and William Coombe (12, lead miner born Perranzabuloe) are lodging with the family of James Jeffery (31) in Newlyn Churchtown^[3]

Philip Coombe (22) married Elizabeth Williams on 13 July 1854 in Newlyn East. Philip was a miner of Newlyn, son of Philip ( a miner). Elizabeth was of Newlyn, daughter of Stephen. Witness was Stephen Williams. Both signed their names^[4][5]

Philip and family are not found in the 1861 census, but in 1859 he is the innkeeper of the Victoria Inn, Peterville, St Agnes according to the birth record of his daughter Elizabeth.

In the 1900 census, Philip Coombs (66) wife Eleanor J Coombs (48) and children Mary C Coombs (22), Margaret B Junkin (20) and grandchild William H Junkin (3) are living in Ishpeming, Michigan^[8]

Philip died on 24 Sep 1907^[9]
